Scot v Eng highlights today – Only one day international from Grange Cricket Club, Raeburn Place, Edinburgh (Scotland) Sunday 10th June 2018. Eoin Morgan called correctly at the toss in England’s first visit to Scotland in over four years at The Grange and just the fifth ODI between the two sides since 2008. Despite slightly overcast conditions throughout the morning, the sun began to peek through the Edinburgh clouds as the captains headed to the middle and it is expected to remain dry through most of the day.
A slight surprise for Scotland was the omission of ex-captain Preston Mommsen, who came out of retirement last year to make himself available for home internationals but did not travel to the World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe. Dylan Budge, the 22-year-old, comes into the team to make his Scotland debut. Chris Sole also makes the XI ahead of Stuart Whittingham after Sole experienced hamstring issues in Zimbabwe that forced him out of most of the tournament.
Alex Hales stays in England’s ODI line-up but moves down to No. 3, after having opened with Jonny Bairstow in England’s last ODI in New Zealand this March, a move confirmed by Morgan on the eve of the match. Sam Billings also takes the gloves from the rested Jos Buttler with Bairstow continuing as a specialist batsman.
England won the toss and elected to field.
